Managing risk

Risk management involves the identification, and pro-active management, of potential events and their impacts, both positive and negative, on the project.

The focus of this workshop is the practical application of best practices in risk management. It introduces advanced risk management tools and techniques and concentrates on how these can be made to work on your projects.

Who is it for?

Do you have responsibility for risk management in projects, portfolios or programmes?  Are you a project manager involved in assessing project risk?  Do you have to gather and organise information to enable risk management?  Do you need to effectively communicate risks to stakeholders and project team members?  This course is for you.

What will I gain?

Based on the APM PRAM guide and CITI’s innovative approach to risk, the master class provides participants with a structured method for gathering and organising information to enable appropriate risk management within a project.

It discusses risk management assessment and quantification techniques. Specifically, you will be able to understand the case for risk management, recognise how it fits into the project environment and identify the sources of risk.  You will then be able to create an effective project risk log, assess the effectiveness of your risk management process and communicate effectively about risk to stakeholders and project team members.
