Centres of excellence club

CITI facilitates a 'Centres of Excellence Club' - known as the CofEe Club. This is an invitation-only, membership-based network of like-minded professionals, of senior individuals with responsibility for projects, programmes and portfolios in their organisations.

Each quarter, a member organisation hosts a workshop at which a current hot topic is discussed, and best practice, experiences and concerns are shared. 

White papers are often prepared and distributed to members following a meeting. Previous meeting topics have included: organisational culture and acceptance to change, requirements management, benefits management, development frameworks, agile project management and project complexity.

The twenty-fifth meeting will be held on the 16th February 2012 at EC Harris, London.

The topic is Translating strategy into change.

Making strategic change happen is a challenge for many organisations; whether it is the launch of a new business in the midst of regulatory upheaval or implementing government policy during a period of austerity.

Translating strategy into change actions that take the organisation to a pre-determined state and which delivers the value and benefits anticipated is the theme for our next CofEe Club meeting.

We will explore how strategic ambitions can be structured into clear statements of change: “What is new?”, “What is different?”, and just as important, “What must be ‘let go’?” Given that directed change or planned business change is done for a beneficial purpose and it is achieving that purpose that determines success or failure, we examine ways that benefit analysis and business cases are being used to drive activities in projects as well as in business-as-usual to focus them more effectively to create value.
